Atl Rumors?

Throughout all of the speculation leading up to this announcement, have there been any Atl rumors/venues? 7 years is a looooong time for a major market like Atl to go w/out.

who knows..i did call aarons amphitheater and gwinnett ctr and nobody knew anything.. doesnt mean much because the people working there make 9 bucks and hour and look at a calendar of shows...dont think they can play philips though with the hawks in the playoffs and maybe even the thrashers..my gut tells me they are going to skip the ATL just like they did after bonarroo..

Just moved here from the Northeast and now I realize how spoiled we were up there. Has it really been 7 years since the last ATL show?

That's a damn shame. And there are a lot of places like that. They haven't played some of the largest metro areas in the country in 7 years. If they played ATL and skipped Texas again, I'd consider that one for sure.

None yet. The Verizon Ampitheater in Alpharetta might be a nice venue. Smaller than Lakewood. Atlanta is a good central hub for the southeast.

I'm concerned that Atl will get bypassed again..all of the radio station leaks seem to be non-southeast...guess we will see tomorrow

Have faith. New Orleans is on May 1 so you've got to think there will be atleast 1 or 2 shows close to that.

The only thing still giving me hope that we won't get skipped again is the fact that last year's EV shows never leaked out before the 10c announcement and it seemed like almost that whole tour was trickled out beforehand.

Eddie did make it sound like they would be around there the next tour while talking about the fact that a large part of the new record was made there during his solo shows last year. Even with playoffs coming up they can squeeze in a night at the phillips arena since it only take a day to set up and tear down. Of course they could make up for all that lost time and just book the Georgia Dome and play a stadium show. I would make the drive up there but am hoping for a Tampa or even most preferred would be a Jacksonville show since my firend's dad is in charge of all show set-ups in that area which would mean a pre-show tour.

  • the northeast must be too lucrative to go anywhere else.

seems so silly they would come all the way down to new orleans, but not have any other southern shows. why are they even coming to new orleans??? So I guess Jazzfest is going to be their 1st show. Hope they aren't too rusty! guess SNL will be a bit of a warmup.

Noblesville 9hr dive is the closest. I was sure we'd get one. I mean does NY or Boston really need 2 more shows?

O well maybe next time. I'm still going to Jazz Fest so I'm excited about that. The drive isn't horrible to New Orleans, only about 7-8 hours. Flights are cheaper on Southwest if you are willing to drive to Birmingham. Flights from Atlanta were way too much.

    I'm seeing:

    Tonight-Cymbals Eat Guitars
    Tomorrow- Roman Candle
    Saturday- Drive By Truckers

As much as i hate missing pearl jam they sure do make it easier for me to see bands who actually like their fan base in the south.

Got Wilco and My Morning Jacket in the next month too.

Wondering what I should do with my money I had saved up for PJ, thinking about just saying fuck them and spend it on bands that actually give a shit about fans in the southern part of the country.

Moved from the DC area to ATL over the summer, so I'm definitely hoping for an ATL tour date this summer!

I'm sure they'll play the US more than just in May, so hopefully they'll hit the south and west later in the summer.

I've got Moe this weekend and then Wilco at the Fox too. I'm having to miss the MMJ show. I'll be traveling to Nawlins for sure, already have the hotel reserved. Looks like I'm going to be trying for an MSG show. My GF is going to visit her friend that goes to Columbia right around that time. We haven't got flights yet so we are just going to go that weekend. God knows if I'll be able to get tickets though!
