This band was the free track of the week on iTunes Canada a while back. Well, I just happened to listen to it yesterday, and I dug it, so I checked out their website. And for a limited time, they have their debut EP up for free download. Yes, you have to sign up to their mailing list. But that's it.

If you like Kings of Leon, then you'll dig these guys. That's the only comparison I can come up with at the moment. ;)

I've only heard their newest album, The Cold Still, but I'm diggin it. Great stuff. Anyone seen them live before? Their playing a real small club in town this fall and I'm thinking about checking them out.

I couldn't get into their last album - maybe a year or so ago?  A little too poppy for me. Should I check this one out? @2-feign-reluctance

Ah, Ocean By Ocean. That was a cool departure from their formula. Ghost Alive is more guitar based and I think a return to form.

Ghost Alive really is absolutely stunning. Such a beautiful album on such a hard topic of mortality and loss. Not easy to pull off, but they knocked it out of the park.

The funny thing is I kinda consider Ghost Alive more of a departure than Ocean By Ocean. Sure, GA is more guitar oriented again, but it’s heavily acoustic. I felt that OBO, while a bit electronic, was still a natural progression from Promises. GA feels like a sharp left turn from OBO to me. Not what I was expecting at all, but in the best way possible.

Boxer Rebellion is the one band I give when someone asks me for an under the radar band recommendation. Honestly not a bad song in the catalog.
