I don't care what party you are affilliated with, or if you are not affiliated with any...

and No I'm not impressed by the Ralph Naders of the world either (sorry Eddie!)

All I can say is (at this moment in 2010) the whole process seems riddled with pay-offs, bribes, scandals and bankrupt moral values..

I can understand how the villagers used to storm the castle with torches and pitchforks in the old days....

Trust No One ....

because NO ONE in Government is working for you..

Though this thread should be in Moving Train...I agree with you 100%

The whole U.S. system is corrupt and I don't think I'll ever see otherwise in my lifetime. How can a country improve when corporations give money to politicians so they'll vote in a way that favors them. I happened to read a piece of company email that was sent to me the other day. It was from Exxon and they were telling employees to contact their local senators to stop the EPA from passing new clean air regulations. This was sickening because I have to work at this place where every time I go outside, I get a smell of some odor (toxic I'm sure) and I can't help to either cough up a lung or keep from puking. They don't care about people inside or outside the plant. They just want to make their dirty fuckin' money. It's not just Exxon either...I'm sure most of the corporations are just as bad when it comes to other issues.

In my opinion, the senate and congress are worthless and get in the way of turning the negatives in this country into positives. I think we should be able to vote in a dictator and not have to worry about which senator, congressman, lobbyist, or whatever will chose to delay or vote against a bill that will better our country. A dictator that can be voted or forced out of office if need be. The whole system needs to be revamped!

    Bottom line:

The Government doesn't give a shit about you, me, or anyone else. They are interested in 2 things:

    1) Keeping their power
    2) Expanding it wherever and whenever possible

And with an attitude like this, I truly believe I will see the USA fall as a world power in my lifetime. Like was said before, there are too many payoffs, bribes and corruption to think this country will be on top in 60 years. Someone out there is ready to pull ahead of us.

    Sad but true.

Dunk beat me to it. Also, as government employees, we are expected to be lazy and inept. You have to sign off in agreement on your first day, or you ruin it for all the slackers.

    Amen. I hear you.

Either all of our government officials are just complete moronic idiots, or they are all 100% corrupt. I suspect it's the later.

It's a good thing I don't have one violent bone in my body, because our pathetic government just pisses me off to no end.

That's true. My ex was told by his department manager not to work too hard when he worked for a local Housing and Zoning department.

Sometimes places do like to hire hard workers, but that's only so somebody can keep things running just enough to keep the whole place from falling apart while the rest of the workers sit on their asses all week. Then, they use the work that hasn't been completed as an excuse to request to come in for overtime.

I'm working a seasonal government gig right now. It seems to be an exception to the rule in that everybody works really hard. But we're grant funded, so maybe that's the difference.

bit of a blanket statement there.... is a good christian such as yourself suggesting that ALL government officials are 100% corrupt??? thats like me suggesting that all church ministers are 100% into small boys under the age of 14.... oh, um, errrrr wait... i'll find a better analogy later.
