Contentment?

the wolf

the sea is finally calm,
yet I stand on shaky legs
should I just be content that I still stand at all?

the dawn wraps me in its arms
and pulls me within its harsh embrace
should I just be content that arms embrace me at all?

I am the puddle, my water still
you are the single drop of rain crashing down, sending tidal waves throughout my world
should I just be content that you enter my world at all?

the angels fall silent in defeat
crying their tears of shame
should I just be content that anyone cries for me at all?
