I have a feeling that there are a lot more Nickleback & Creed fans here in Pearl Jam-land than anyone realizes. Occasionally you'll get someone who's "not afraid" to admit that they like those bands. But for the most part, I think people are afraid to admit it because they know they'll be crucified. Personally, I would rather listen to Metal Machine Music on repeat than listen to any of those watered-down Vedder/Cobain impersonators warble a tune.
I'm not afraid to go against the grain and be different. Having said that, I think Nickelback and Creed are some of the most godawful bands I have ever heard. I did like 2 songs off Creeds first album back in 97, but that didn't last long.
I actually hate Creed SO much, that back in 99 I actually rooted for Fred Durst to beat the shit out of Scott Stapp during their little tiff on MTV.
"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam0925
When I first saw Nickelback, my instant reaction was "the vocalist is a wanna-be-James-Hetfield." Bad enough.
But then I realised they're one of those bands that families go to watch. The kind of families in which the Dad thinks he looks cool by draping his sweater sleeves over his shoulder and tying them in a casual knot.
my dad makes fun of me for loving pearl jam....he just went to a nickleback concert.
