What happened to all the anti-war protestors?

Did I miss something? There hasn't been a major anti-war demonstration since—what, the RNC in 2008? Aren't there two wars still going on? Didn't President Obama just ramp up one of them even? I guess war is the answer as long as a "progressive" is in the White House. Even Ed and PJ have softened up the anti-war mantra in the last year. What has changed here? Very interesting.

To be blunt, I don't think any of the protestors want to protest the first african american president.
They probably voted for him too. So... war is ok, as long as Obama is in charge of it. It was easy to hate Bush's war policies. He was white and republican. Black and democratic? No way there will be any protestors.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

They all bought I-phones and like the rest of the political climate in our nation, bailed out once their side won the election.CONservative governMENt
Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis0 -

That's good question, I don't know if it's due to the economy here in DC but the protest of our wars does continue. It continues but on a smaller scale here in DC. The last protest that i participated in was December last year through Code Pink, protesting the war in Afghanistan. A group of less than a 1000, we spoke out in the cold luckily before our major snow storm but i'm not sure how many was listening.
Before that I participated in was March 2008, a cold big ones in (never been so cold in life) March 2007 and January 2007. Overall I'm now seeing it doesn't matter who's in power and under whatever administration what effect these anti-war protest march accomplish. The many I was a part of under the Bush administration I wondered what was the effect then and was anyone listening. Troops are still being killed just in smaller numbers which seems to lessen the anger towards these wars but civilians killed are on the rise. War it seems has become second nature to this country and now appears to a complacency in the minds of some of citizens which seems to make no difference who's administration is in charge.

Now that is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, OK one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. I may not have voted for him but I'll protest against a purple coloured president if he's a warmongering one. To me it doesn't what color he or she is, if they are pro war I WILL feel compelled to protest against those wars sometimes actively sometimes not. Even though troops are still being killed today many many more were being killed when GWB first years in the war so was the anger towards the wars at that time.

I believe more people are finally really starting to wake up and open there eyes. Democrats/republicans, same shit different only in name. I dnt give a shit if Obama is black red yellow or white, he's a fucken puppet and so are the rest of them. You ever notice that no matter what new president we have, they basically have the same exact policies? I wonder why? I mean shit dnt they or can't they think for themselves??? There is only 1 real party in America and that's the G R E E D P A R T Y.... There's A new order in the world and people need to
realize where they stand in it......0 -
I think because it was the "in" thing to do and hop on the anti-bush movement. And 90% of America has forgot that there are wars going on because the media doesn't need to show it now that a Dem. is in office. They did their part to win an election from the Dems. now its back to important things like American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and the Jersey Shore.
All in all.....the protesters will long be forgotten, the riding of their parent's and professor's coattails of the 60's was just a fad.
I still have some level of respect for protesters now that have sticked it out, I may not see eye to eye, but they are passionate about their beliefs and really educated on the issues.BRING BACK THE WHALE0 -

The opposite side of that question is... since the wars are still going on... the war supporters are supporting Obama's policy on the wars, right?
And by the way... I'm still here. Still pissed off that we are still in Iraq and Afghanistan and still writing to my representatives.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

suddenly it's not unpatriotic to question the president anymoredon't compete; coexist

Which begs the question... are the people who are asking where the war protesters have gone... Obama supporters? Logic tells me that if they support the war... that President Obama is prolonging... they must support President Obama on this issue... right?Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Let's see if all media including FN will give this march some air time unless of course a riot breaks out. I'll be there though.
