I thought it was like Jamaica passport suggested but can get in with valid drivers license and original birth certificate if just vacationing.

  • Paradise Island, Atlantis if you can... the pools and beaches are worth it! You DO need a passport starting this year. We stopped there on a cruise and it was hard to get back on the boat!

    june should be fine

my wife and I like Abaco and Exuma

They are more isolated, but the beaches are fantastic and a LOT less crowded

Check out the out islands if you really want to get away from it all

yeah, short flights from FLA on small planes
or if you are not worried about $$ you can take a boat-awesome but very expensive for a nice boat

But well worth it in my opinion if you want a beautiful and isolated beach vacation. Just keep in mind that you should bring some of your own supplies (booze, snacks, dried fruit) unless you want to pay top dollar

check out long island as well, I havent been there, but I am hearing good things about it

just keep in mind that the bahamas tends to have five star and one star accommodations
places are usually really nice or shall we say "rustic"
but all I ever need is a beach during the day and a tiki bar at night

the out islands are totally different from the cruise ship madness of grand bahama or nassau
