Spinners!

Following suit from the running thread....anyone around here into Spinning? It is such a tough workout but so much easier on your joints than running...at least for me. I go at least twice weekly.

    I go when it's too dark/cold to go outside & ride. Yup, great workout.

    Luckily I get to guest DJ a lot in my class, so I play PJ often. Unthought Known is a great standing climb song....

    I used to go every week, but then the instructor changed for the time I could go and started playing only terrible music, so I stopped going. I need to look into it again

    The music is so critical. We have this one instructor who seriously plays 12 minute long Paula Abdul megamixes. I couldn't take it!!

    I loved my spinning class- I was in a class every Tues & Thurs AM for about a year and then my butt bone or tail bone started killing me- so I had to stop. I swear I must of fractured the end of my tail bone from going crazy on the bike. Joe was our instructor and the class was WILD !! :D

    Are you wearing bike shorts? The padding really helps.

    YES...this is key. Also a padded seat cover is the best investment ever.

    You know I should go out and get a pair of those shorts and try it out. I would bring in an extra padded seat to put over the bike seat and still I would be in pain. I guess I shouldn't give up- just loved the class.

    Even just a relatively cheap pair from a regular sporting goods store should be fine for you. The expensive pairs from bike stores are for outside riding on a rock-hard seat. The experience is much better with cycling shoes as well, by the way. Not sure if you were already using those. Good luck!
