Dave A topic is now locked? Did anyone else see him......

Did anyone else see him in Philly? I was in the "VIP" bar for the Wednesday show and this dude with long black hair, sould patch, the whole 9 was in there. I thought it was him but at this point, I was gone and my vision was blurry, so I thought "nah, there's no way". But then when the show was starting and I was walking back up to the concourse, he was up there and turned around to talk to whoever was walking behind me. He had a backstage pass too. I made eye contact with him and he gave me this look like "please don't bring attention to me" so I just walked by him. But after seeing the videos of him on tour with Stevie Salas, there is no doubt that it was him. Did anyone else see him there?

    Which night's? I was there for all 4. Didn't see Dave A around.

    Well then there ya go. I guess no grudges held anymore. Oh and as a response to this one guy who was trash-talking Jeff for being 40 and still skateboarding, if he's healthy and still able to do it, more power to him! That's why we love him, you jackass! That and being the master of that MONSTER GROOVE!

    I'm telling you, I thought it was just someone who resembled him. But after seeing the Stevie Salas videos, there's no doubt in my mind that it was him. Plus he had a backstage pass.

    There is a way to debunk this however; If there was a Stevie Salas show on 10/29, then there was no way it was him, and I am just a fucking idiot lol. I'll look into that now........

    European tour ended 9/28, so he wasn't on tour at the time......

    I had no idea who the hell that Stevie guy was but I just checked out his sound and he sounds alright. And you can definitely pick out Dave's drumming.

    If my knees and back are still good enough at 40 to do that, I'll be stoked. Getting old is for sissies :D

    I'm surprised no one else out of the 15,000 people there saw him. Lots of people recognize tons of other celebrities, but not a former band member?

    That's called a China cymbal, which is most often played upside down. Not too unusual, with an awesome trashy sound.

    I started that thread and was shocked that it was locked. No controversy; just wanted to start a discussion about how great he was. And by the way, his massive use of cymbals is what made him great and a better sound.

    I'm guessing it got locked because there was trashing of other current members of the band. I doubt it was locked just because it was about Dave A.

    I wouldn't be surprised if there were a TONNE of people out there at PJ shows that look like Dave A.

    Jack Irons had a trash can lid, literally, as a cymbal. It was cool looking, but sounded like nothing other than "tapping". He seemed like quite the joker.

    Considering that you sound like you were shit faced at the time I would say it was probably not Dave A.
    And no one else has stepped forward to say they saw him at the show.
    If Dave A. was at a Pearl Jam show I would think that more people would have noticed him.
