I hope I'm wrong as far as the EP goes, but there isn't going to be one. They say the same thing after every album: "Oh we have these extra songs so we'll put out another album or an EP", then they never do. The songs used to end up as B-sides but they stopped that with Self Titled. Where did this talk of an EP following Backspacer come from?
(and don't jump down my throat about using the search function, message board police, tons of non-related crap comes up when looking for a two letter word)

Mike mentioned it briefly in an interview. They had something like 22 songs written for Backspacer and only 11 were used and some of those songs might get released on an EP in 6 months (from Sept). That's all that was said and nothing has been said since.
