what if I were to say to you
that I saw your future in a dream
and of course you know my dreams come true
and in it you were happy?

what if I were to walk away
with no words, just my pain
because there is nothing left to say
could you forgive me?

what if I were to say to you
that all of this is unnecessary
all the scar covered hearts
will never fully mend?

what if you were to wake in my dreams
would you finally see the things I see
that my future should be of no concern to you
because the future has no use for me, why can’t you see?

what if I just said goodbye
and walked away
because I had nothing left,……
could you ever truly forgive me?

How would you know if she truly did forgive you? It seems something difficult to realize from both parties. Is it a feeling? Only expand if you feel like it. Thanks for your poetry.

Hmm. that is a good question. to be honest, I guess one can never really know if they are truly forgiven by another.

the "you" in this piece though, is not actually any one person. It's pretty much everyone I know, rolled up into one person so I could direct the questions to a singular person, and they all make up the "you".

this came from a dream I had the other night, a very vivid dream. when I dream like that, there tends to be some sort of "truth" buried in there somewhere.

this probably makes zero sense.. :oops:
