Dave A Rules!

I have been listening to the Dissident singles and am reminded about how much I love Dave A. His cymbal work is unmatched. I wish Matt would add some splashes and china cymbals. They make the songs more musical an add depth. Matt is the best, but Dave added a lot of class. Too bad Ed treated him like shit.

Well personally, I think his drumming was pretty lame.

I'd take Jack and Matt over Dave any day of the week.

And guess what? Jeff Ament didn't think Dave A was so shit hot either.

Everyone is quick to put the blame on Eddie, but there were alot of other factors that led to Dave A's departure from Pearl Jam.

    The glove just didn't fit.

I don't really care about that issue. I've heard both sides and still think Ed was being pretentious in his non rock star rock star ways. This thread is about how Dave was great.

Jack irons was average at best. I'll never understand how people say he was the best drummer pj had. Jack was by far pj weakest drummer. I agree Dave was sick and matts great, but Jack, I'm sorry, he just never did it for me or a lot of my pj friends. I've always thought they'd get Dave back but I guess those riffs between them is just to strong to get over. I wonder what the sound of the band wouldve been had they kept Dave all these years. I apologize to all the Jack fans but to me he was the weakest.

Completely agree; he was good, but boring. Dave had the most range to me. Matt is the best drummer, but his cymbal work is boring.

Dave's drumming equaled Eddie's intensity, making for the best music and performances of their careers. Any animosity towards Dave (especially from Jeff) is pure childish, but you wouldn't expect less from someone in their late 40s who still skateboards. Now is the time with the Soundgarden reunion and their 20th anniversary coming up to have a reconciliation with Dave Abbruzzese, even if it's just bringing him on stage to perform Porch one last time.

Matt is perfect for Soundgarden. Someone on here once described him as a Machine gun - i agree with that. Dave A is my favorite PJ drummer.

He was and still is great, however, he hasn't been in the band for 16 years. Personally, Live with Cameron they have never been better and have a way better sound than they did with Dave A. He was too clean sounding, too many fills. These guys are one of the very few awesome live bands that just get better and better. Cameron is the longest standing drummer and it shows live how tight they are.

I feel DaveA was attacking you with his drumming, If he would do drum solos they would rock me thinks. Matt Camerons drumsolos on Even Flow from the 2006 tour are boring...

I guess Cameron is great on a technical level, I don't know mch about drumming. But, I don't really pay attention to his drumming on live boots, seems to be rigid like a machine and stale - DaveA on the other hand attacks you with the drumming. But maybe it has to do with mixing etc.
