countdown to spring!

my daffodils and muscari have been poking through the snow for a while now. no flowers....just their greens....and the promise of blooms to come.

no matter how cold the winter, there's a spring time ahead...

daffodils are one of the *happiest* flowers imo. i so love them, and just completely make me smile.

It has to be my age cause i never used to say I've had enough of winter but after the last snow fall i have officially had enough of the fucking snow & winter .....even though i spent five days in sunny Puerto Rico on the Beach i just wan't the hot Sun here ...ok Spring 1st

was a beautiful morning!
already a wee bit warmer, snow is starting to melt, daylight lasting a bit longer. it's getting closer!
daylight savings time starts in 12 days.

It's been a " cold" winter down here in Florida too . Looking forward to pushing the clocks forward in a few weeks. Keeps the sun on the mountains a little longer in Colorado . I love spring skiing, heading back to the mountains in a few weeks. Can't wait!

to me, it's not so cold, but it IS gloomy. a bit of rain, a bit of snow, bad winds earlier....grey skies....yea, gloomy. just will make that first beautiful, blue-skyed, sunny day that much more welcome and enjoyable!

The red wing black birds that winter in flocks with us are singing their summer song now instead of their fall and winter cluck cluck. They will be leaving soon, maybe even by the weekend, for northern parts. My summer residents are now getting their spring colors to woo their mates and soon I will see the migrating songbirds like the Rose Breasted Grosbeak and Indigo Bunting at the feeders for a little rest stop. Then my pretty little hummingbirds will return about the time the last couple Robins head to the mountains. These constants of nature always make me feel so secure. Life is good.
