How eating a chicken sandwich changed life forever.

I want to share a story of admiration with you. Warning, I'm predicting this will be a long one. It's about my Sister.
So 6 years ago, my sister ate a chicken sandwich. This changed her life forever. She got really bad food poisoning from it. She was so violently ill that she tore her esophagus from throwing up so much. Have you heard about communism and the 'domino effect'? this food poising started one thing after another, multiple things went wrong, several operations, multiple scans, several trips to the doctor and many nights spent in hospital.
On one of her stays in hospital, this bitch doctor told her that she had a mental illness, all of these 'unexplained' illnesses were as a result of a mental condition. My sister started to question herself, as she was battling some depression, as she went from a happy healthy 24 year old to someone who had to quit jobs, get fired from jobs cause she was simply to ill to work. Eventually she was diagnosed with a paralysed bowel and stomach. All as a result of this chicken sandwich.
So out of nowhere, she finds a guy, someone who really looks after her (not my cup of tea, but he loves and looks after her, and that's what matters, so he is a good guy) They will marry in October.
At the end of 2008, she was getting headaches, drowsiness, she got scans. After initial scans, she was told that it looked like she had a brain tumor. This was just a broad scan of the brain, on subsequent scans to a more specific region, remarkably there was nothing. They wrongly diagnosed her.
Several years ago she was told she would never be able to have children. If she wanted children, she would have to look for alternate methods.
Nine-Months ago, she became pregnant. After a very hairy pregnancy, where several times she thought she had lost the baby, and battling her illness which she is on a disability pension was a tough tough pregnancy.
Today, she went into labour at 3.30am. She wasn't allowed any pain relief other than paracetamol because it would effect her with her other medications. At about 6.30pm, the baby had turned around, and she gave in, she needed pain relief.
At about 7pm, a darling, little, healthy boy was born. A true miracle.
Much love to both.
Sorry I'm home alone, and can't visit till the morning, and I have to share the pride and excitement I am feeling.

As for where the chicken sandwich came from, a takeaway place. She couldn't prove that she got the poisoning from there, she sent the health department there, and they did find it dodgy. But the closed down pretty soon after.
She probably could of pursued it more vigorously, but at times she has come close to losing her life with the illness, so it all became a bit much for her.

sadly, as bad as it is, the fast food industry actually has higher standards than the public school system.
some kid died a few years ago after eating a hamburger at a jack in the box
and check this out about factory farming!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2 ... ry-farming
Scientific studies and US government records suggest that virtually all chickens become infected with E coli (an indicator of faecal contamination) and between 39% and 75% of chickens in retail stores are still infected. Around 8% of birds become infected with salmonella. Seventy to 90% are infected with another potentially deadly pathogen, campylobacter.
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
Dominic which means gift of the lord. So pretty appropriate really.
