Is your state the worst, I live in New York, the home of the wonderful useless New York state senate. Today our "accidental governor" announced he would seek re-election. I meant to start this a while ago, but I'd be curious to hear about other state governments and if they approach the dysfunction of New York.

I'm with you... I live outside of Albany, so our local news/newspaper is inundated with coverage of our worthless state legislature and Paterson.

I'm pretty sure all our state knows how to do well is raise property taxes.

I'd say that's a tie with NY for dysfunction with a slight edge in corruption.

I would tend to agree, we are a mess. However I am curious to see how our new Gov attacks spending, debt and corruption in our state.

I almost moved there for work, I'm still hoping I'll have that chance. I would have been living in District 14, Ron Paul's district. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn announced today he is pushing for a 1% increase in the state income tax. Here is to him losing this fall.

The Dems have run this state for years and it is a disaster. Now Quinn wants to borrow more and not pay some bills at all. Great management Gov!

But first he will be on The Apprentice.

I don't think any state has a chance in hell against IL. Throw the corruption in the city of Chicago into it, and it is definitely no contest.

I don't live in States, but in Canada, Ontario has all the US states beat, our premier is running a 25 billion dollar deficit with a population of 12 million, can't wait to here how he's going to pay for it.

I just caught another snippet off the radio from Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn. As I mentioned he wants to borrow to pay some bills and IGNORE other bills, NOT pay them! He wants to raise the income tax rate as well. Every time the raise the rates they still find a way to spend the money only to need more.

Now he is saying that Illinois is $13 BILLION in the red for 2010 budget! Illinois has revenue of $26B. How do people keep electing these fools?

The GOP candidate for governor Bill Brady is not perfect but he is going to get my vote.

In New York also, and I hear you loud and clear.

I also live in NY's most violent city per capita-- and our city government is horribly corrupt.

But on the whole, I still love it here, and all of my family and friends are here.

If they weren't, I'd be long gone.
