Have any of the band members ever visited Iraq? The band seems pretty vocal about their position on the war and the support of the troops. I have never heard mention of an appearance or attempts. Probably not the best PR for the band, nor the military, but it seems that there would have been a curiosity to see things with the 'naked eye'. Life and death situations never seem to burden them and their knowledge is usually a step beyond my own imagination. With the involvement of their studies and the resources it seems that an attempt (with documentation) would have been made at some point.

Anyone?

    It'll probably never happen.
The Pentagon wants people who support the war, not anyone who's against it. That's why people like Toby Keith and Jessica Simpson go, not Pearl Jam... not the Dixie Chicks. The Pentagon wants people who will 'Boost morale', not plant questions of the mission.
Maybe when we wise up and realize that this is a fucked up situation and bring our troops home... Pearl Jam can throw a benefit tribute to the troops gig and let military people (who want to go) get our membership seats.

Anyone of us who would complain should be grateful they aren't seperated from their loved ones for three 18 month tours eating MREs and worried if the next door they are ordered to kick down has the business end of an AK-47 on the other side.
The proceeds for a benefit can go to the wounded kids who the fucking government, who sent them there, no longer gives a fuck about.
