How to make an animated gif, from several photos?

I want to create a medium-large size image (maybe about 5" wide x 3" high on the screen) of a few images that fade one, into another, slowly. Like maybe 3 or 4 images. Maybe even up to 5 or 10.

I use Photoshop CS3 and I'm pretty familiar with it for editing photos, but I haven't done anything like this. Can anyone tell me, step by step, how to do this?

I imagine I need to have a few layers which are the same size as each other, with the images in order... and then some magic button will do this, but I'm just guessing.

Anyone? :)

You can download software for making simple animated gifs. Maybe you can find some websites where you upload the images and then download the gif.

That's a good point. I'm also youtubing "animated gif photoshop cs3" to see what comes up. A lot of videos on there, so I'm seeing if any of them are correct for my use. :)

    Maybe use "FLASH"...:)

Hmm... I do have it. I've never used it.

I just saw a vid for Photoshop CS3 and I'm gonna give that a shot now. Is flash easier or anything?

YouTube rocks! I got it figured out pretty well now. Figured out how to fade it too, though it's just a little choppy, but still good. :)
