People Got a Lot of Nerve-Neko Case

    An elephant never forgets
    Standing in the concrete cave
    Swaying side and?
    They walked over the ocean
And thier dreams they dreamed awake
    Until the lights grew dim
    'Till the cop cars came
Everyone says I'm crazy yes I know

But I'm a man man man man man man man eater
But still your surprised prised prised when I eat ya

You know they call them killer whales
    But you seem suprised
When it pinned you down to the bottom of the tank
    Where you can't turn around
It took half your leg and both your lungs
And I craved I ate hearts of sharks

But I'm a man man man man man man man eater
But still your surprised prised prised when I eat ya X2

It will end again in moonlit song

Gee you think? I rather enjoy when we make small attempts to control nature and animals and it blows up in our face... we call them accidents, but in actuality they're righting the wrongs of our ways.

Isn't this the 2nd or 3rd person that whale has killed? I guess there's not much they can do with it, though. I don't think releasing them back in the wild isn't an option.

Seriously? If this is true, Sea World is retarded for keeping people around the whale.

I am pretty sure that this is the first recorded instance of a whale actually attacking someone, seemingly with intent to harm. Other cases have been accidents, in which people swimming with dolphins or whales get injured by a non-aggressive animal. I could be wrong.

where is tybird with his factoids about killer whales!? harrumph!!!

the killer whale is not actually a whale, it's in the dolphin family and is 1 of the smartest animals.

i saw something on national geographic about 1 that comes back year after year to eat young seals and shoots himself on the beach at amazing speed, grabbing 1 and flopping himself back into the water. he would make test runs just skimming the edge for a while to get a feel for everything but when he struck it was really an explosive rate of speed.

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

Craziness ... Killer whale indeed. If this is true, why not treat this animal like a tiger or a grizzly, and you know, NOT give it an opportunity to munch on people. Holy shit. This whale ain't good material for a public show, clearly.
  • please don't keep wild animals in captivity, and please don't force them to perform for human entertainment.

    it's just wrong.

From what I have read, this Orca was captured from the wild and moved to a handful of theme parks where people were injured. Clearly the animal belongs in the wild or at least away from humans. My guess is that Sea World is keeping this male Orca around since he has fathered several babies for the theme park. Sounds like they're placing revenue-producing animals over human safety, not that I am surprised.

If this animal COULD survive in the wild, I'd be all for releasing it. Not sure if it could by this point, though.

orcas are familial animals. they stay with their mothers their entire lives. to release this orca back into the wild you would have to find his pod. in this case the handlers were warned not to get into the water with this orca. this woman ignored that major safety rule and paid for it with her life. orcas are highly intelligent animals and they are the alpha predator in their home environment. they should never be kept in captivity for our amusement or for any other reason.

did you notice how his dorsal fin flops over??? a classic sign on captivity 'sickness'
