Not a pussy - a centrist and inappropriately hyped, sold and bought as something he is not.

Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis

So many promises, so much time wasted. Definately not the president he campaigned he would be. True, that he stepped into a WORLD of BUSHSHIT, but more fucking war? Come on!

Like most politicians, campaign promises are nonsense. People buy into it for whatever the reason. Keep going back to the well America, it's dry.

Obama never promised to end the war in Afghanistan, unlike his promise in my sig. even during the primaries his website always stated he would send more troops to Afghanistan and many of the troops in Iraq would be redeployed there.

That's actually not true. Obama has been running on the notion of getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan. As the election grew closer and once he won, he then changed his position to do I send more troops or remove... in which case it was decided to build up.

Regardless of any of this, he hasn't done what he's said he would do and in many areas, actually done the opposite. Perhaps it was the people buying into a nonsense campaign of change, or perhaps his ideas were nothing more than a pipe dream.. either way.. our political system is a joke. In every major area of policy we do not change... we have one party with one right wing group, and one a little more left-wing group.. but in the end.. both vying to maintain the status-quo.

Barack Obama and John McCain today offered diametrically opposite views of the war in Iraq, even as both called for sending thousands more US troops to Afghanistan.

Obama Would Send U.S. Troops to Afghanistan, Pakistan

Aug. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said he would pull U.S. troops out of Iraq and send them to Afghanistan and possibly Pakistan, which he called ``the right battlefield'' in the war against terrorism.

Whatever. He had the opportunity as commander in chief to END these wars and he didn't do it. He could have used all his political capital on this issue. He has no balls. If he did he would have ended the war first thing. First thing he should have done. He's a third rate LBJ/Jimmy Carter. Horrible.

One of my major disagreements with The Obama administration is his continuation with the wars in Irag and Afghanistan.

whatever? i'm not defending him i'm just saying there was no reason at all to think he would end the war in Afghanistan, the only war he said he'd end was in Iraq. over a year before the election, while still in the primaries, Obama was saying he would send more troops to Afghanistan so anyone who thought otherwise just wasn't paying attention

Your right bro....sorry. I hoped that Obama would do something brave about the war but it was all just an unfounded hope. I am very disapointed in him. I imagined that the peace prize would help him change the present situation. But I guess it's like Debbie Gibson sings "it was only in my dreams"
