The waiting is the hardest part. I have a feeling it's gonna be a new tour, hopefully not their last, as many people have been speculating. I really hope they do Europe this time, cause it's been too fucking long!!!

  • He's the best. Super professional. Always plays a tight set and fans are never unsatisfied. I'd love to see him again.

Petty is great live- one of the best shows I've seen even if it's the standard same set every night for all tour dates with little alterations in the set. Saw the band in 06 and it was bad ass. Covers and all. One of my highlights was him busting out "handle with care" from the Wilburys- awesome!

Seen him in 05 and he was a shell of himself from just a few years earlier. Bad move having the Black Crowes/with Marc Ford, open a leg of the tour.
  • I honestly thought he quit touring?

If he comes to the UK i will be doing all i can to get to a show

I was hoping he would be playing somewhere outdoors. Not a huge fan of indoor concerts during the summer. But Petty will be hard to pass up.....

Unless you are on the west coast. We get Joe Cocker...
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

    Another story on it

I can't afford to see Petty and PJ in the same year. But for a long time the Wildflowers tour show I saw when I was about 16-17 was my fave show ever. He is just so amazing and so consistent after all the years.

I've been listening to Hard Promises a lot recently. One of my favorite albums of all time.

Tom Petty is a great example of an artist who has had a really great career. He never did too much to jeopordize his credibilty. The fact that he can still do arenas and large amphitheaters after all these years is amazing!

I haven't listening to a TP&HP album for 20 years, yet I always love to see him live. The Mudcrutch shows a few years back were great!

I've seen him a couple times and will catch him once or twice this summer (both shows in my area are on Saturdays which is nice). I don't have a negative thing to say about him live. Great atmosphere, great vibe. The band still plays great and the crowd is extremely into it. Tailgating is probably some of the best I've ever been to, too. It's a massive drunken singalong and everyone leaves happy after getting blown away by a band that still kicks ass and sounds amazing.

    Yeah, kind of a bummer....

Hoping for a way to pull together some dough to see TP and DBT in the same show -- seriously a dream.
