can somebody help me here

been playing the song on my acoustic guitar for a while now, but I'm trying to figure out the "...like a book amongst the shelfs - sometimes I...." like Ed plays it on his solo shows

not the bassline (you also find on chord/tab-sites), but he seems to play it in some kind of chords

thanks

When I play it I just keep it simple and normally play the root (or bass note as you mentioned) and it's octave which is the 3rd note in the power chord. Sometimes I'll include the perfect 5th, which is the 2nd note in the powerchord. It depends on how hard/easy I'm wanting the sound at the time. I think a good mix of the root, root+octave, and power chord can really produce a different array of sounds and intensity.

  • Can't view the clp right now, cause I'm at work, but the beginning of Brain Damage are just D and Dm. Maybe that helps.

That sounds easy enough. Thanks! I also found this

    Nice vid. I like it.
The start of the pattern is quite annoying but then it becomes repetitive

Looks to me like the following all palm muted

    Bb

    3333
    2223

Then back to the same pattern as Saljam mentioned below.
Ok - and am absolutely loving the pink floyd :-) :D

this seems to be it, thx a lot
and after that he plays the "3's" on the 'D-string' instead of the 'A-string'

and that Brain Damage pre-tag is really great, you got to love whatever he puts his hands on :D
