I will say.....Snider's Army is a passionate bunch. You're not the first to sing his praises to me.

    Any others?

  • Grant-Lee Phillips is still amazing as a live artist. His last few solo LP's haven't been much (if you ain't into folk), but he still plays a lot of the Buffalo material. Fuckn' legend!

I was on a Marah kick for awhile, kind of put them aside for now. I got an email of an upcoming album release for them so I will probably check it out soon. They are worth checking out, I hear their live shows are where they shine.

I don't think she is on Yep Roc, however I did discover her through that website as they were advertising her latest record. Check out Neko Case. Simply fantastic.

    1. She has a voice that could make angels cry.
    2. The music she is accompanied by is a nice blend of country and alternative rock.
    3. SCHWING! She's a babe!

Let's say knowledge is a tree, yeah.
It's growing up just like me.
  • Grant Lee Phillips is amazing. He is a top 10 arttist of all time for me.

Do yourself a favor and pick up Grant Lee Buffalo - Storm Hymanal. It's a great introduction to his work.

Yep roc is cool, I bought his new LP Little Moon from them and won a contest and received a signed Grant Lee Photo. Can't say I totally endorse the new album though as a starting point. As a solo artist I'd start with Virginia Creeper.

Full band you can't go wrong with Fuzzy, Mighty Joe Moon or the Storm Hymnal compilation

Grant lee Phillips is a true legend of the 90s and to this day blows me away whenever I get to see him live. Solo stuff is a bit more mellow, although IMO the new album is his closest venture to the GLB days.

Grant Lee Buffalo are a must for every DECENT music fan...seriously pick up their albums you wont be disappointed!

Big Ass Truck. Got to give the nod to the Tennessee boys.

Good stuff. I used to go to school with one of the brother of one of the guys in the group.

When I had my radio show, I interviewed them.

    Thumbs up...check them out.

Must take issue with this. I'd start with Mobilze. Virginia Creeper is way too 'proper' folk.

I really need to get my hands on mobilize...

I suppose VC is very much folk, but I think it's a near perfect folk record

mona lisa, lily a passion, waking memory, calamity jane... ahh GLP is a genius
