According to HardDrive Radio, a source at Q Prime Management — which represents METALLICA — "flat-out denied" a report that surfaced over the weekend that METALLICA will headline the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee next June. The information, which was based on an an email published in industry commentator Bob Lefsetz's newsletter, also stated that LED ZEPPELIN would play its first U.S. show since July 24, 1977 at the event.
METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich told Examiner.com in an October 2007 interview that the band's upcoming album will be "heavier" yet more "melodic" than 2003's controversial "St. Anger". Ulrich explained, "Whereas 'St. Anger' was an exercise in over-pummeling the listener, these new songs echo some of our stuff from the '80s — long, epic journeys through different musical landscapes, heavier, but a lot more melodic." When asked whether the new songs will be shorter, in the four-to-five minute range, Ulrich said, "Well, the most of the intros are four to five minutes. I don't know — METALLICA and short songs just don't go that well together."
Although none of the songs have official titles yet, Ulrich revealed that some of the "silly" working titles included "19", "10", "German Soup", "Glass Cow" and "Black Squirrel". Ulrich said the names "relate to where the idea came from, like Glasgow, Scotland became 'Glass Cow'. And when we don't have anything clever to call it, we just call it a number."
The new METALLICA album is tentatively due in the spring.

that would suck for me
because there is no way Im heading to Bonnaroo
unless they build a hotel on the farm
But it will be such a good, good day if Led Zeppelin & Pearl Jam play Bonnaroo.

2006 - 5/5, 5/12, 5/13, 5/27, 5/28, 5/30, 6/1, 6/3, 6/23, 7/22, 7/23, 12/2
2007 - 6/27, 8/3

Heres to hoping the tunes aren't as cliche as his explanation of them
Also, correct me if im wrong but wasn't the only controversy over "St Anger" whether is sucked or not?
At Bonaroo?
Not buying it.
Zeppelin is not going to play Bonaroo. I say NO WAY.
Not that I know crap. I just say NO WAY.
ok you just changed my mind fuck ZEPP fuck the whole festival season i won't attend anyof them even if PJ decide to play this hick fest fuckmmmmm..hehe that felt great ...
I saw them on May 14, 1988 at MSG. Think he forgot about that show. Actually that was the last time all 3 and Bonham Jr played together in public. The other time was at Jason's wedding.
i've seen some kinda-bad youtube footage but cool, new stuff is always vcool with bands you grew up listening to.
Whats with the Pearl Jam Metallica name crissxcross latley eh?
Jerry was cremated.
mmm, stop me if I'm wrong but was not the whole shebang with the London gig next week, lottery and the huge ticket price (for charity) because it would be the ONLY show they play?
I'm not going and I don't care much to (saw Page & Plant at Glastonbury in 95, was ok but not great), but if I was the people paying fortunes for that gig I'd be mightily pissed off they start to show up at festivals!
way to go along with the joke...lol...I wonder if ashes can sing?
dude hell YES!!! the air mattress is gangsta! its come in handy for plenty of camp outs for shows where we hadd 'a pillow made of concrete'!!! i just heard like 30 minutes ago on the music news that LZ is DEFINITELY playing bonaroo!
