I haven't bought a new album for 2010. Is there just nothing good out there so far or am I just not hip to the stuff the kids are listening to? I think this must be a sign I'm really getting old. :( :? :)

There just hasn't been all that much released. New Cave In EP/live DVD and Massive Attack have been the only new releases I've picked up so far.
  • I was in the same boat as the OP until I picked up Spoon's Transference. Just an awesome rock record. $6.99 at Newbury Comics too! You won't be disappointed.

That's what I was meaning to check out. I couldn't remember. Their last album was top notch. Thanks for the info.

well if you're up for a bit of instrumental stuff I've been listening to Atticus Ross' Book Of Eli soundtrack, it's pretty good stuff, similar to NIN's Ghosts.

The opening track is fucking awesome, I can't stop listening to it!

That album...I think...will probably be the first new cd I buy this year which is very very good for a fella with the kind of music addiction I have....hard times though. I've picked up a few older discs that I missed initially.
March 16th is right. There are some good boots at www.southernshelter.com and I think they play all the new songs on the three from January at the 40Watt....songs sound great if you haven't heard them
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

I bought Peter Gabriel "Scratch My Back", really liking this one at the moment.

Then this week we have Johnny Cash's "American VI: Ain't No Grave", and that's been getting great reviews, really looking forward to it.

I'd agree though, there doesn't seem to be much on the horizon compared to last year (my "best music year" so far!). New Crowded House album will be out at some point, probably May. :)
  • I haven't bought any new albums this year. I know I'll buy the new Hole album in April and the new STP in May though. Also if Cage the Elephant release their new album this year I'll buy that too.

    note to self

always, always, have a small pile of unopened music cds, at all times

life will be better knowing you just barely have enough time to listen to it all 8-)

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (Phoenix) and The '59 Sound (The Gaslight Anthem) are my two favorite records of the past couple years. Check out "Rome" and "1901" by Phoenix and "Miles Davis & the Cool" and "Meet Me By The River's Edge" by the Gaslight Anthem. You won't regret it, trust me, especially if you like rock and roll.
