It sounds like Layne wanted to die at this point. So depressing.

Layne stated in his last interview that he knew he was near death and that he never wanted his life to end the way that it was...he basically admitted that he knew he had been defeated and he was accepting his own end.

    :( Miss you Layne.

  • This really vindicates Mike Starr too, because lots of people over the years have said he left Layne to die, and now we know this couldn't be further from the truth. Layne had given up the will to live. It's interesting finding out these details nearly 8 years after his passing, after most people thought he was completely alone during his final days.

Can a person really vindicate themselves? (just a technical question)

  • Well Layne's Mom was on Celebrity Rehab last night, and Mike Starr revealed Layne Staley's final words to him. Here's a transcript that took me awhile to write up from the episode.

This was truly hard to watch, had me tearing up.

    Thats truly fucking awful reading.

How did a guy with so much talent and so much respect in the music world end up like that. Horrendous.

    RIP Layne Staley

yeah, last nights episode was truly sad. had me tearing up. I am glad Mike got to finally talk to Layne's mom. almost 8 years is a long time to live with that guilt and pain that he felt.

I still don't understand why Mike was dismissed from the band though, it makes no sense to me... if he was dismissed because of drugs/ alchohol. Layne was an addict, and using too.

anyways, I wish Mike star the best and hope that he stays sober. I am glad he got to talk to Layne's mom cause it seems like that would give some closure.

I watched the AIC unplugged last night as well. Felt like a good time to watch it.

This whole episode was pretty heavy on emotions. I don't want to spoil details for those that have not seen it, but the whole episode was pretty intense.

It's funny, I have that on CD and DVD. Two completely different experiences.

Dont alot of people here always talk about respecting a bands privacy? It seems like everyone wants to know the dirt on Layne now because of that show.
