Plain and simple it fucking sucks.

Anybody that smokes should think twice.

My dad hasn't smoked in 30 yrs and he still got it.

Since October of 2008 it's been one thing after another.

Thursday we find out how bad it is but from what I have read the damage is done. :(

    I am sorry you are all going through that.
    Hope the news on Thursday are not too bad. (or as good as they can be given the situation)

    Lets hope this new setback turns out to be beatable or at least
    manageable & treatable for the long run.
    Sorry to hear about this.He has been through a lot the past
    few years. He sounds like one tough cookie.
    I'm keeping both of you in my thoughts in these trying times.

    I hope to see you at the next Alpine Valley show or maybe,someday
    if were lucky,at a couple Red Rocks gigs soon. Take Care

    My dad has the same and hasn't smoked in about 30 years as well.
    I'm scared as hell.
    I just found out it's stage 4.
    I will think good thoughts for you, your father and your family.

    I hope the diagnosis wasn't as bad as expected, let us know when you're ready.

    You and your family are in my thoughts.

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    UPDATE: Had doctor appointments Thursday and Friday and more next week. But yesterday he had a CT SCAN of the neck/throat and of his thyroid. The lump is there were just waiting for the results which should be Monday. It's hard to see and get done cause my dad has a big neck. So we had to have it done again. As usual we feel like a ping pong ball bouncing back and forth. Also in the middle of changing main doctors so that adds more fun to all of this.

    Even with all the stuff he's gone threw he's been ok with it. But this issue I know he's more worried this time, he talks to me about it alot. Also doesn't help that one of his childhood freinds has throat cancer and it's painful for him to see that.

    Anyway thanks for the replies and good vibes everyone. I'll pass them along to Jerry. :)
