Ok, I'm kicking around a few different titles for a collection of my sappy, love poetry. Ok, maybe my style doesn't really run in that direction... Anyhoo, which do you prefer?
Knee-Deep in Chalk Outlines
Make it Stop
The Night is but a Fetus
Hair Pieces & Hand Grenades

Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
Hey, someone liked the Fetus title. Yay! My stuff does tend to run a little dark, well, according to others. It all seems pretty normal to me!

"what a long, strange trip it's been"
now if it was a book of erotic poetry i'd might suggest a slight change in that title

#1 would still work....for some people. :?
#4 would definitely be more interesting for that collection tho.
i do agree with whomever mentioned poetry samples to fit. tho, having read a bit of your work, i can see any of the proposed titles 'fitting'.....but it is entirely dependent on the overall theme of the work included, most definitely.
and that's all i have for free advice today.

Best of luck!
I like the sound of Hair Pieces & Hand Grenades the best.
My second choice would be Knee-Deep in Chalk Outlines.
you don't want to know. Actually I like #1 the best

Herd Behavior
Summer is on its way out
ATV’s and gun racks
Gettin’ restless
Saliva over the gums
Hear tidbits of
Twenty conversations
Everyone's opinion
Strategy
And the usual
Nothing at all
Cannot help but picture
Rabid samurais
In every church
School and saloon
Cannot help
But imagine myself
Knee deep in chalk outlines
Raising a glass
To nobody
Choosing Bliss
We had just established
The connection
Between continental drift
Hair pieces and
Hand grenades found
In ancient ice
A language demanding
Thirty seven percent
Of the human mind
And a colossal energy
Metastasizing
In seven billion directions
When we realized
It was a secret
Best kept between us
We understood any
Obligation
To enlighten our vain
And destructive race
Would result in more thorazine
And because
We were beyond
The trappings of
Audible communication
We silently agreed
The conversation
Never took place

sounds like a fine book title.
"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
Chief Joseph - Nez Perce
Never took place
liked those last lyrics... and the poem also, so i thought "the conversation never took place" could be a nice title.
for many may sound.. too simple but i kinda shocked me in a good way, and i thought... wow that's interesting!
still "Hair pieces and hand grenades" it's cooler:P
I appreciate your feedback and I always loved the hair piece and hand grenade line. I don't expect any in-depth analysis of the piece from anyone, but what I'm implying there by saying we found that stuff in ancient ice is that maybe mankind already advanced to our current level of technology sometime in the past and obviously something happened to set us back, but still, we never learned a damn thing as we are just as vain and destructive as we were when that original hair piece and hand grenade were buried in ice.
