Just picked up the show (april 3, 1994, Atlanta Fox Theater) in the form of a KROQ promo. It wasnt too expensive and It it sounds good; just curious if its worth anything (i understand may be easy to pass off cdrs as silvers, but i just dont know enough about it to know the difference; if it was expensive, i wouldnt have done it).

It looks legit - here are some details:
the discs are gold and have black lettering. At the top is the "World Famous KROQ logo" and at the bottom is the show info, with a disclaimer at the very bottom ("not for resale; all rights reserved. unauthorized duplication is a violation of applicable law") On the back of the disc, imprinted (words are backwards) - "Z100 PEARL JAM /1 and "mastered by nimbus". It is a two-disc set and when i loaded it to my music library on itunes, the songs are not separated (just part 1 and 2)

Sounds bogus to me, but if it sounds good who cares?

agree (if its bogus) - it was cheap, so im happy. Just curious as to whether it was real (ive seen a lot of threads discussing ripoffs (eg., the basketball disc), so i generally stay away, since admittedly, i dont know what im doing)

You should ask pdalowsky because there A LOT of fake copies of this record, i don't mean look-a-like i mean they look exactly like this one.

    thanks; interesting.
(it must be a really good job because it does look exactly like this one, including the stamp on the back of the sleeve, though the pink stamp is not present) And it is in two tracks.

I have a WBCN version of this, same thing, two tracks, 1 per CD. Got it back around 95 or so from a friend who won it from WBCN.

thanks again. Of course, if something that is a big-ticket item catches my eye, im going to check in with this forum before i make a purchase. In this case, Im happy with the show; I didnt buy it to make money or anything.

The important thing is that you didn't pay huge amounts of money for it, and that you like it ;)

  • Back in 94/95 I lived in the Tampa area and a car dealer near there had a promotion and gave out CD's that looked remarkably similar to those CD's. They were the same show, and were one track on each CD. Sound is phenomonal. I lost mine over the years so I cannot verify if the radio station is the one in Tampa that sponsored the giveaway I got mine from. But I think they are 100% LEGIT!

I have the same set and yes it's legit. Nimbus is a professional CD manufacturer. If it was fake/CDR it wouldn't have that designation on it.
