In this week's L.A. Weekly, there is an advertising supplement with dozens of ads for dispensaries. All of them mention prices for different types of the weed, and some offer a free 1/8 to new customers. Some even allow you to consume their product in an on-site lounge. There is even a dispensary that delivers!

A bit surreal to see how the wacky tabacky has become so legit!

  • Its not so legit in my world. Unfortunately some people have had thier lives de-railed big time because in some places weed is still villified. Its really too bad. Ive seen alcohol do a ton more damage meanwhile the powers that be , most of whom live less than wholesome lives, want to string up all the old weed heads...such BS
I sometimes wonder if they know that I'm gone...

Right. Cali is the exception to the rule.

Some friends of mine were featured in a documentary on cbc a week or so ago…it’s basically an industry overview, told from the point of view of the commercial and medicinal growers, and law enforcement.
You can define the word ‘absurd’ by watching these RCMP officers hiking around the mountains in the southern BC summer heat, in full gear, to find and cut down plants. They don't even take or burn them...just leave a business card. What a fucking ridiculous waste of resources… the cops say so themselves…in fact the main cop featured admits that they’re just making matters worse. hell, he actually laughs when he smells weed coming from a passing car. No one takes it seriously, except the ones making millions running it to the US…well, they’re making millions off the coke they bring back here….there’s a lil bonus in the US pressure on us to keep weed illegal, eh?… We give them killer BC bud, they get some coke off their streets with no government expenditure at all…..

    Here it is:

Comparing this thread to that documentary shows how, in a country that considers itself to be so progressive, the ‘most progressive province’ in Canada still lags far behind CA on this subject. ….’yo Harper’…thanks.
Glad to see the feds leaving Cali alone.
