I want to start a Los Angeles PJ cover band.

I'm a fairly seasoned drummer of 9+ years and I've never done the cover band thing... only original material. My biggest influence as a drummer is, unsurprisingly, Matt Cameron (both his SG and PJ stuff). I'm often approached after gigs by complete strangers who say things like "That was some sick Matt Cameron drumming, man." Once, one guy even said "you sound exactly like Matt Cameron if Matt Cameron had a stroke and lost 15% of his motor control." Best compliment I've ever received.

Long story short, I really want to play some Pearl Jam. I'm looking for L.A.-area musicians to fill out the rest of the band. Right now, it would just be a couple of practices and a gig - let's not get ahead of ourselves. Nothing against beginning musicians, but I'm looking for people who are good/great at their interests and already have a passionate knowledge of the PJ catalog.

Anybody interested?

  • Get me a green card, a home and a generous bank account and you got a bass player :)

In all seriousness, good luck man, if you got any gigs in LA May 6-15 let me know.

Dirty Frank and Vitalogy run L.A/O.C as Pearl Jam tributes. And DF has one HELL of a drummer. Luckily for you DF just broke up so maybe you can start a cover band in L.A! Its kinda tough crowd wise because.....alot of So Cal people don't really dig Pearl Jam tributes since the boys are alive and well! HOWEVER.......being that theres a tour schedule mishap.......we ALL just might have to start seeing tribute bands!!! :o

    that sounds funny
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
