Sunfest (Mudfest) Pro Shot for commercial release?

I was at this show, Gimli Manitoba August 1993. It was my first PJ experience. I bought the video bootleg off eBay, and I've also seen the same footage on youtube. It was obviously professionally shot, and I've heard it was intended to be commercially released on VHS, but it never was. Anyone have any idea as to why?
