Terrible

One of my really good friends in high school died Thursday morning. A lot of rumors spread around about how he died, but we found out he died from cardiac arrest at the age of 20. His parents found him on the floor in the bathroom at 6am. One of our other friends from high school is a volunteer EMT and actually got the call to go to the house. A lot of speculation has been done about him overdosing on drugs, and it's just terrible for people to remember him that way.

This is the first time in my life where someone close to me has died and I don't know how to handle it. I wasn't best of friends with him these last 2 years of college, but he was my favorite person to laugh with throughout high school.

    I am very sorry. I lost three of my friends in their 20's so I know what you're going through.

    It seems like you are finding comfort in music. Keep on doing that. It helps.
    I sometimes wonder if they know that I'm gone...

    i lost my mom on 28th Oct last year at the age of 58.. your 20 years old friend was WAY TOOO YOUNG to pass away.. my thoughts are with you and his family and dear ones..

    I remember one year in high school we had 3 deaths: car accident from drag racing, one suicide, and one heart condition. It got to the point where you would walk into school and see people crying and hugging and you'd go, "oh man, someone's died."

    Sorry about your friend, 20 IS too young.
    Anything could have happened, its a shame that rumours are flying.

    Those Pearl Jam words you quoted are beautiful some of the best. Your friend made you a star with his friendship.He touched your young life. You shine long for your friend because he lives on in your heart.

    :cry: Sorry J...really sad news. The only way to handle grief is one day at a time. Try to do some positive things in his memory. A couple years ago we had a nephew die in his sleep, he just turned 16, his mom found him and his dad tried to give mouth to mouth to him, it was too late. Everyone speculated as to how he died too, six weeks later we found out it was his heart, he had a problem that no one knew about.

    Way too young.
