fistful of memories

I keep the good memories
clinched tight in my fist
as dreams of what might have been
slowly slips,...

away from the blank stares
away from the black cloud that hung overhead
away from the constant struggle to understand

It took you nearly 5 years
to decide you didn't need me
funny now it seems
it only took me 19 days to feel the same

also funny how sometimes love
can hold you back
be sure to follow the dreams that you cited
because I'm finally starting to live mine

so my fist holds tight the memories still deemed good
and my heart lets go of the burden of the pain
made by you and I
as my body and soul reaches for new heights

no regrets
the love was real
no sadness
new memories are in the making, being born each hour

live long and well and know that,
no matter what, you will have a place in my heart
goodbye
Peace, Love.
