Hello people. Has any other band headlined more festivals than these guys? I doubt it. I've never been to a festival personally, but it seems like a great way to expand your audience for the band. A lot of bands play festivals but to be the last band to hit the stage, that is something special. That's respect! Here is a list of PJ's headlining festival appearances for those want to discuss the matter:

I'd love to see them do Big Day Out in Australia with a side show in each city.

Soundgarden, Neil Young, Nick Cave, Porno For Pyros, Foo Fighters, You Am I, Offspring, RHCP, RATM, Radio Birdman, NIN, Living End, (a very drunk) Blink 182, KOL, Prodigy, and so many more highlights from wasted summer days at BDO.

Not sure about "king of festivals' . I would probably have to give that title to Iron Maiden. They are the king's if not the godfather's of headling festivals, especially in Europe.

Olympiahalle and ISS Dome weren't festivals. Chorzow and Nijmegen weren't billed as festivals but as headlining shows, though with 3 openers in each one I can see a case for them to come under 'mini-festivals'.

Hard Rock Calling at London Hyde Park is definitely a festival.

One word: Metallica. I stopped counting at 31 and that was just 2006-2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Me ... cert_tours (assuming they headlined each festival bill they were on)

btw, you forgot Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park 2000 shows from your list.

... and btw, Pearl Jam was not the last band to play at Pinkpop 2000, both Live and Moby played after them on the same stage : http://www.pinkpop.org/2000.htm . Also, The Cure were set to play after their Roskilde 2000 set.

Dark Star - You should try a festival sometime. They have the potential to be a pretty good time, and for me, they tend to increase my overall appreciation for when I do see them in a lower capacity venue.

not sure about kings, but perhaps...I'll see them play anywhere if time permits.
