Update from the Digital Lounge, not really though
to whom the internet may concern . . . it's 2010, we get it, watch it go to fire, sure.
we here at tenclub would like you all to calm down. we have to admit that when we conceptualized the "DL" we knew we couldn't call it the Down Low . . . first, we weren't cool enough to pull off using that, and second we were really only interested in the Lounge part of the thing. you see, we are inconsistant.
from ed's use of the typewriter for lyrics to him posting notes typed on an iPad for the website
from vinyl to reissues to bootlegs to eps to albums
from releasing tour schedules to fan club ticket sales
from jeff's skating skills to dating skills
from high speed internet to cable modem for our servers
from stone's singing confidence todancing prowess
from supporting a president to supporting loosing sports teams
from mike's addictions to his solos
the point is we just can't be expected to look too far ahead with things. i mean, it makes more sense to live in the present tense, you know? the point is we are making a movie . . . haven't you kids always wanted a movie? that's what we thought. of course it is the year of animated sequels and 3-D all senses spectacles, but none the less this venture will make you feel rewarded for expecting us to care about your demands and insecurities for the past 20 years.
here's the thing, we have no intention of making you happy . . . hell, you aren't even the kind of music fans that we ourselves are or that we would like to see at our shows. ok, that was harsh, but seriously, your hearts are in the right places and you sure do know the words to all our songs and you sure do jump up and down a lot (ie aNiMaL maybe). we just haven't gotten around to calling this year "fun" as of yet, and that's because we are still trying to get you all the things we promised you last year. so, for the time being, due to all of the things it takes to be your band, the 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam will be moved to next year 2011. That's how budgets work, just ask the President.
