SEATTLE - Arguably two of the world's greatest guitarists, both from right here in Seattle, want you to "hootenanny" with them -- to raise money for Haiti.
Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and former Guns 'n Roses bassist Duff McKagan will headline "A Hootenanny For Haiti" Sunday night -- to raise money for earthquke victims.
Today -- both rock superstars spoke with Q13 FOX News This Morning Anchor Mark Wright to talk about the benefit concert to raise money for "Partners in Health" -- a medical relief agency.
The concert will be un-plugged -- totally acoustic -- and will give the two musicians who grew up together here in Seattle, just blocks away from each other in the Laurelhurst area -- a chance to perform together.
"You know I'll see something on VH-1, where Pearl Jam is doing a "Who" cover, and I'll see Mike, you know, just shredding," said McKagan. "he's throwing his Les Paul on the ground. But I'm like, 'I know that guy! He's my friend! He's amazing, he's awesome!' So for us to be able to get together and play -- this is what being a musician is about."
"We wanted to do something that was solution-oriented and positive with our combined talents," said McCready, "and that's what the show is all about."
The performance starts at 6:30, Sunday night, at The Showbox At The Market.
"I'm playin with Brad tomorrow night(sunday) for Mike McCreadys Hatian benefit at the Showbox at the market. Probably be singin for the Chileans as well it would seem....It's an acoustic show!"
