Dave Grohl... He just seems to be a guy you want to root for!
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

billy corgan. and i say that not really cause i like him more i just think the resume of work right now tips in his favor. siamese dream and mellon collie are far better than any foo fighters albums. the only thing for me that has any significance is color and the shape. this may be different in coming years since corgan has fallen into obscurity and dave doing tcv now. being in nirvana and lead for ff just isnt putting him over the top for me. billy corgan is an arrogant pompous ass but he still carries more weight to me right now!!

    Billy Corgan

I like dave, but i like him more when he is not the driving creative force. foo fighters are okay, but i love his drumming with nirvana and his work with josh homme even more.

Smashing pumpkins although has its ups and downs the first three albums are great with songs and moments afterwords that are great

Billy Corgan by a ways. Grohl is a good drummer and all, but Billy drove one of the most unique bands of the90s.
  • Dave Grohl. He's better in all ways. To me Corgan is a real freak. Sorry, if that offends anyone, it's just my opinion.

How exactlyis he better in all ways? He can drum better and he's been in some graat bands, but as a songwriter and all around musical architect it's not evenclose

I'll take Grohl's vocals over Corgans any day... and I don't think much of Dave's vocals. Corgan is the much better musical architect as you say.

    Dave Grohl.

Billy made some amazing music in the '90s, that's without question, and on songwriting talent Billy wins easily (well, maybe Billy's songwriting isn't that great now, but in the '90s it was impeccable) However, I still cannot help but vote for Dave. He's just such a cool guy, and he drummed for Nirvana, the most influential band of the '90s, started the Foo Fighters, who have so many great singles, and did/is doing stints drumming with Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures.

Maybe I just don't like the musical direction Billy's been taking recently... he also seems like an off-putting character these days.

    Dave.

    Billy's such a pussy.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

isn't it supposed to be based on their musicianship? Those scores should be the other way.

I think people are voting on who they would rather listen to, not the technically better musician.

  • I voted based on the current situation. As it stands, I think Dave Grohl probably has more decent music left in him than Billy Corgan does.

I think I was voting more on an imagined physical fight between the two. Billy's all lanky. Dave's heftier.
If it came down to musicianship, I would have to give Billy the vote.

  • I'm picking desert island style...
If I had to choose an eternity with Grohl's discography
    or Corgan's, Grohl would win.
If I was stuck on 1 of those super-duper long space flights with only
1 of the 2 to hang out with, Grohl.
Going out to chat up girls? Grohl.
    Road trip? Grohl.
Musicianship and/or the ability to write songs?
    Errr, Corgan.
Hey, I can admire a work of art, but I would still rather have my
PJ posters hanging on the walls! ;)
    Cheers.
