hey guys,
My wife and I are looking to take about a 8-9 day trip this march and I'm looking for some place cool to go. I'm in the NYC area, and looking to stay in the US or Canada.
I've got a mental block on what to do... any help is very appreciated.
Background is that anything goes, and we'll do almost anything.
thanks!

I used to go with 3 others about once a month.
1. stop at Bell Rock, walk a few trails, "smoke"
2. get coffee
3. go to some "new age" stores and have a wonderful time discussing philosophy, life, etc
4. lunch at this wonderful little sandwich shop, the name escapes me
5. "booster"
6. walk the shoppes, look at the art
7. stop at black canyon city for pie on the way home.
Rented a cabin on the Yellowstone River in Gardiner Montana. The cabin was surrounded by mountains and farmland. It was fully equipped with everything we needed to live there for a week. Even had satellite tv for the evenings when you just want to lay around and relax. Kinda rural but close enough to the town and the entrance to the park.
There were animals galore. Bison like friggin Dances with Wolves. We saw an elk with the biggest rack I'd ever seen. Don't get me started on the geysers and whatnot. It was beautiful and amazing.
duly noted. if we go, i'll be giving you call
My girlfriend and I visited Seattle and Olympic National Park last May...
one of the best vacations I've ever taken.
6/12/08 - Tampa, FL
8/23/09 - Chicago, IL
9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
9/04/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 2
I've been thinking of road tripping this time. One of our first ideas was to do Canada, and hit Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Niagara Falls. We were hoping to stay at the Ice Hotel outside of Quebec City, but damn that place is expensive. So that left us without an over-the-top experience that we were trying to have and bummed us out a little bit.
Now we're looking at maybe doing Cali and splitting time between LA and San Francisco, driving up the coast between the two.
I would love to wait until PJ tour dates are announced to maybe incorporate that into our plans (my wife loves PJ too) but as we all know, we might be waiting a long time to hear anything.
Its tough to piece together a road trip that hits a bunch of different experiences (city/history/nature).
Auxiliary question:
-There's that much to do in Seattle? I guess I need to look into that a little bit.
Thanks again for the help so far. Hopefully this thread is helpful to some others as well..
