“Play me a song”
came out of my mouth
up to a single blade of grass
I was the insect.

Some music
is mine
some isn’t.

Tiny chimes
barely can move my ears
yet I am shakin with messages.

Green fields run far
as a universe to me
while giant salamanders
play guitars
and mountain music.

Here
acoustics are drinkable waterfalls splashing on my tongue
I am insignificant
but I bounce alongside rainbow tracers
and golden fruit tees decorated for pie.

"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."

Chief Joseph - Nez Perce
