Eddie Danced alot more that I expected. Matt Cameron Played a fill into the chorus of Even Flow that blew my mind. Video's I've watched on youtube will never compare to how I remember it.
I will never forget any of the 14 PJ shows I've seen
Oh yeah, that's right , Eddie busted out all these dance moves, especially on "DO THE EVOLUTION"
Nov 14 '09, Perth; first show. I knew PJ was a strong live band, but their performance exceeded my expectations. Eddie's connection with the crowd is amazing. Most of my favorite tunes were played; Grievance, Red Mosquito, Whipping, Evolution. A Pearl Jam concert experience is one of those times where you say to yourself: "Life is really worth living!"
My first time was seeing the boys in San Diego in 1995! It was such a great show/experience! Went with a friend who was in the fanclub, and I soon joined after the show! I also can say that I saw the Ramones, since they opened for them that night!
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Mine was Sydney 11/02/2003, aged 17. Opened with Long road.
I remember them playing spin the black circle, and Ed getting down on the ground, spinning around in circles 'spin spin, spin the black circle'
He also said that our Prime Minister was giving George W Bush a blowjob.

Toronto, 1992, opened with Oceans... heard Breath, SOLAT, and Leash... Eddie climbed the light scaffolding... have never seen anything quite like it since...
37 PJ Shows, 3 EV Shows, 1134 Total Songs, 24 Different Openers, 9 Different Closers, 252 Unique Songs (never enough)
My very first was lollapalooza in '92 (I think) at Montage Mountain in the Pocconos. I actually didn't realize there was such a hike from the parking lot to the venue, so I missed the first part of PJ's set!!! The rest of the set blew me away, but I will NEVER forgive myself for being late... the best opener for me was Philly '05 - I hadn't seen them live in quite some time (starting family, raising kids, etc) and hearing Eddie's voice ease into Wash was like coming home again after being away too long. That entire show was great but to this day when I hear that boot Wash gives me goosebumps.

I know the way you felt - I missed past of the London O2 set last year... to which they opened with Release...
But came in just after Even Flow, but they played a long enough set list, which was coolio!
Wow, watching them in '92 must have been kick ass!
First show 10/2/96 in Hartford...I was 15 and one of my friends just got their license and we drove down from Boston...first concert overall not just PJ...opened with Long Road and I've been back 40 times since!
It was supposed to be Barrie, Ontario in 1998 but that trip fell through.
You poor bastard
That remains one of the greatest weekends of my life . . . . me and about 6 of my closest friends heading up to Barrie from Ottawa, staying at a cottage the night before on the way, then into Barrie for the concert the next day ON MY 20th BIRTHDAY, for my first ever PJ show.
You missed an unbelievable experience . 30,000 PJ fans in a GA setting - I was blown away - and hooked for life.
But i find that the crowd makes a huge difference on your concert experience - if they are into the show (which PJ fans usually are), then you'll feed off the crowd's energy, and so will the band . . .

I'll never forget nearly being trampled, and my friend's mom kept yelling "My daughter's on a bad trip" to get us all the fuck out of the pit.
Pinkpop 2000-06-12. Corduroy was the opener! Black(for Eddie's friends in Utrecht), Light Years (for a friend who passed away that time) and Fuckin' up stood out to me, amazing!
There's a light,... when my baby's in my arms...
And I know she's reached my heart,... in thin air
First PJ Show: (it was a festival called Sunfest up here near Winnipeg
Cool . . I have that show on tape/transferred to DVD as well . . . . looked like a great show - neat to know you were there!

9/5/1992---Lollapalooza. I don't really remember the setlist, to be honest. I do know that I was a fan before that show, but became a huge fan after seeing/hearing them. they blew me away.
7/5/98 - The Dennis Rodman show in Dallas. You all know it.
How was that show??
Was it fun???
Or was Rodman just an annoying fucking fool????
Both. Started out funny as hell, got really annoying because he wouldn't leave, then had an awesome finish. The image of giant Rodman carrying little Vedder around on his shoulders is pretty funny.
My first show was the Astoria on April 20th, 2006. Great show, but wasn't my favourite. It took me a while for it to sink in that the band were right in front of me. I couldn't snap out of the surreal feeling, and I don't think I was prepared in terms of stamina. By the last few songs I was just nackered and needed to sit down. However, nothing will replicate that initial feeling when the band took the stage and tore into Worldwide Suicide.
I have more fond memories of my next show, which was part of the official tour for the self-titled album. It was the first night in Lisbon, Portugal. Everything felt magical that night; the roar of the crowd when the band came out gave me chills, hearing the crowd singing along to Wasted Reprise and then kicking into Life Wasted was nuts. You can hear the pop from the crowd on the bootleg when Life Wasted kicks in. Totally nuts.
It was a fairly standard setlist but it was special because the band was so tight. Absolutely breathtaking versions of Animal, I Am Mine, Wishlist, Given To Fly, Do The Evolution, Jeremy....and just listen to Black if you want chills. The crowd was soooooo loud during the 'We Belong Together' bit at the end.
Prepare yourself, because your life will change once you've seen PJ live.

My First Show was in here in PERTH...on March 20th 1998
Ed was Sitting on the Edge of the Stage singing the last CHORUS of Even Flow lol...When they launched INTO 'Alive' ED stood on the edge of the STAGE right UP front and flung his arms in a "V" and just stood there...and ED also 'Applauded' some guy who managed to Make it on Stage...'Hunger Strike' was also played!
The infamous Atlanta 1994 show at the Fox Theater. I was 16. I wish I had a clue what I was witnessing that night. Every show since has been compared to that expierence. Here's what has come the closest:
Nashville 2003, St. Louis 2004, EV solo Atlanta night 1, and Philly 2009 nights 3 & 4.

Wow, my first experience of PJ live was listening to this show being broadcast live on BBC radio and I remember the moment the presenter handed over for the show and hearing the first notes of Release start the set. I was listening to the band since MTV were rotating Alive after it was on Headbangers Ball and thought I'd love to watch this band live someday. I can't believe it's taken me so long to get around to doing this and I know the addiction for PJ will intensify afterwards. Really looking forward to meeting up with board members at hotels and the shows (Dublin, Belfast and London) knowing that although there's a bit of jealousy for their experiences they will know what it means to be standing there when the lights go down...... Love all these answers and hope it stirred up some good memories, I have a lot of these shows on boots and I'll be digging them out more than usual as June looms. Have a nice day all!!!!

Sydney 1995, outdoor show Eastern Ck. After that i was changed forever. Before the first support came out a guy walked out with guitar & no one caught on it was Ed until my mate shouted out "It's Eddie". From then it was total madness. Five things live in my memory from that show, security shitting themsleves when The Meanie's came on & started what i could only describe as biggest seething mass of humanity i have ever seen, the water being thrown(buckets & bottles) on the insane pit for the whole show, Stone destroying his guitar during Blood & some guy made it to the top of the scaffolding in RVM & getting out of the insanity, lying up the back looking at the stars & singing Black like i have never sung it before. Anyone else still around from those days?

First time I saw 'em was in June of '08 at the Cruzan/Sound Advice/Coral Sunset Amphitheater =D
They opened with Oceans and kinda messed up the beginning, so they started over again, haha. ended with Yellow Ledbetter and a stunning version of the Star Spangled banner!
Received Mother Love Bone's "Apple" in the mail at my college radio station and loved it. Heard about PJ awhile later and saw they were going on tour with Smashing Pumpkin & Red Hot Chili Peppers. Called the Pumpkins promo dept and got a backstage pass under the pretense of interviewing them for the radio station. While the interview never happened, I did get to meet a few members of PJ before the show and I embarrassed myself by telling Mike how great he was in Mother Love Bone
During Pearl Jam's short set, Jeff came running down the backstage ramp mid song and barely missed knocking me over.
Saw them many times since 1991 including State College again in 2003 and 10/31/09 in Philly and I'm always amazed at how many vivid memories I take away from each show.
first time i saw the band: 95 with neil in berlin
