When you had to call that random ticket service to get tickets (non fan club, for some reason I wasn't in it at that time, I don't think I realized the ticket benefit). Anyway, I SOMEHOW managed to get them for Augusta, ME. I didn't think there was chance in hell.

I remember that well. I ended up mailing a check to some place in Allenton, PA and then getting really nervous when my tickets hadn't shown up a week before the show. It all worked out though. Ft. Lauderdale 1996, best...show...ever. Still have those tickets. They were huge.

In '94, if you weren't in the fan club, you had to send your name into The Detroit News to be entered into a lottery for a chance to buy tickets.

In 1932, if you weren't in the fan club, you had to register on a 60 year waiting list for a chance to buy tickets.

ETM sucked but at least they were not charging insane service charges like Ticketbastard

the current way is way better/more immediate at least you know and can prepare to find alternates

there are a shit load of shows in the South waiting to be bought ;-)

How about 5 shows at the MSG, instead of just 2? :)

It's ok to ask for more and besides the population/sq inch is also slightly larger, in the NE's favour ;)

Remember back in '96 when so many of the early fans melted away because Pearl Jam went in a new direction with No Code? They're the ones who don't think the band is any good any more and haven't put out a good album since Vitalogy.

    If they only knew....

Yeah, I was at Randall's Island in '96. Somehow my giant stub and my poster survived the deluge.

    Good times.

I remember trying to get tickets for Randalls Island in 1996. I was on the phone for two hours getting nothing but busy signals. Only to discover that I was calling THE WRONG NUMBER the whole time... doh!

Luckily my brother got through and gave me a pair for my birthday... night 2 at Randalls Island. It was totally crazy... miss those days.

Thankfully for the Toronto/'96 show a money order via snail mail was accepted. Sold the pair of reserved seats i received from the 10C for face value and used the GA floor tickets i bought from the Ticketmaster outlet - mind you this was back in '96 when Ticketmaster outlets still handed out wristbands in numerical order after a concert announcement was made,...felt cool to have wristband #1 for my 1st PJ show :)
To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

  • If I remember correctly I think we had to write off to the TC for fan club tix for the Wembley shows but I also had to get some friends tickets. Took me 2 hours+ to get through to TM but I eventually got through and got tix. Much worse in those days and just as much of a lottery.
