Never seem to get mentioned on here. Just wondered if there are any fans?

I know they're not the most original or ground breaking band, but I've always had a lot of time for them.

Just got their new EP 'Regerades' and going to see them in Manchester tonight.

The new EP sounds much harder/heavier than their more recent stuff. Should be a good show.

Who is their drummer now Mark has gone back to Skunk Anansie?? Does the change in drummer account for the change in sound (I haven't heard the EP yet)

Heard he wanted to be in both bands (bit like Matt with PJ and SG ;)) but the Feeder guys said no.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
  • I love a bit of Feeder! Not heard their lastest stuff, but the early records were pop-rock at its best. Enjoy the show, they're always good fun to see live.

I remember 2 songs from when I was in high school around 97-98, Descend and High. Both were pretty good but I don't think I have heard anything from them since. I remember these songs because I still have a tape I used to keep in my boombox. When I used to hear a song I liked while listening to that radio I would hit the record button. I went through a couple of those tapes. An early version of Itunes.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

Descend it a great song. I once saw the band at a tiny pub show when they were first starting out, I met them before hand and they ended up dedicating that song to me!

hehe- "Cement" just came up on itunes a few minutes ago. That song still kicks ass today. Don't know any other songs though.

Bit rude Ed, like most bands the quality of their later stuff has declined somewhat, but in their early days they wrote some great pop-rock. Check out the link I posted, they got compared to Smashing Pumpkins a lot when they first came out.

Another decent early song was Shade, great riff, kind of reminds me of Silverfuck, decent chorus too:

Oh, and Just The Way I'm Feeling is a classic song in every sense of the word - few bands manage to capture that feeling of grief at the loss of a loved one like they do in this song.

I had all their crappy poppy tunes, further confirmed by seeing them at sonisphere and them trying to cover a nirvana song.

Yeah they changed a lot over time, it's a shame that they got bigger off the back of their dumbed down songs. Proper nostalgia band for me though since I kind of watched them grow from this tiny band who were playing pubs in the mid 90's to playing arenas ten years later.

My absolute favourite song by them is called Undivided, I can't believe they only used this as a b-side, the end of the song when the drums and guitars go into overdrive.....spine-tingling stuff:

    Nostalgia band for me too.

Remember lunchtime at Uni going to hmv and buying High (must have been '96ish) and then sat in the Uni bar and a girl running over and saying OMG she would have to tell her flatmate that she had seen someone that had bought High. Turns out Taka was her flatmate

So I'm not the only fan then!!

When I saw them on Tuesday, they played under the name Renegades. Kind of a semi-side project.
The stuff they played was all new material, much heavier & louder than most of their recent albums.
Had a really grungy (for want of a better word!) sound.

Was a good gig. Really small, intimate venue. Maybe only 150-200 people, but great atmosphere all the same.

Think they have lost their way a little bit over the last couple of albums, but I still think of Polythene & Yesterday Went Too Soon as fantastic albums.

Got an EP of new Regegades stuff with the ticket for the show. Just hope there'll be an album of this heavier stuff to come.

As for the drummer, think his name is Karl Brazil. Not sure if he's just playing for this Renegades project, or whether he'll be a full time member of Feeder as well.
