For such an optimistic album, does anyone think "The End", while amazing, is one of their most pessimistic songs?

Some great lyrics that conjure up quite some emotion, buy such a downer to end an album.

I interpret this song as the fear of dieing alone.."from the bottom of a well", "no one hears me before I disappear" ..

Does anyone else agree?
