who my favorite band is, like who is my #1 of all time. so I tell him and he goes "what's your favorite pearl jam song?"

and honestly, i have not a fucking clue.

I realized that pearl jam has SO MANY songs, and each one has a totally meaning to me, equally important across all of them almost.

and I think I think of pearl jam more in terms of albums and tours than individual songs...

Yeh it is so hard to try and pin point a song, because i go through stages of playing the shit out of a song then go onto another song. Personally my favourite song would have to be Betterman, black, alive (a bit cliche) but i can really connect then there r so many others like release, footsteps, sad, oh so many. It is so hard to pinpoint. My head hurts thinking of it. Or maybe my head hurts because i am hung over :P

its a tough question for me, but Alive has probably affected me the most and the longest, so thats it i think, even if its not their 'best' song.

It took me awhile to realize which was actually my FAVORITE. It kept changing...all the time. But, I've decided on Given to Fly for my absolute favorite....for now anyways! :)

It's funny, but I've been asked that question so many times that I have my pat answer. It's Corduroy. It truly is one song I always love to hear and always makes me happy. :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

    good one.

The songs always change. Rearviewmirror is hard to beat. Do the Evolution... Of the Girl....

I think more in terms of my favorite album. Recently Vs. has kicked my ass relentlessly, but I don't think it could over come Binaural as an all time fav.

    It switches day after day.

Today it's "Brother". Tomorrow is predictably "Glorified G".

I had a job interview last year and the interviewer asked me what kind of music I listen, I answered something like "mainly rock music, especially the Seattle Scene and grunge movement" and added that Pearl Jam is my favorite band because I can relate Eddie's lyrics from the first three albums.

the rest of the interview, we talked about PJ. He said he's seen them 7 times and was on his way to see them again during that summer. I felt a bit like a noob because I've only seen them once. He's an executive manager making big dough and I was still trying to finish college.

    Release or Breath.

Both of them make me feel invincible. Release does that while making me feel intensely vulnerable at the same time. it's weird.

I never know how to answer questions about my favorite song either. Usually I side-step the question by saying something like "Well, it depends on how I'm feeling at the time."

    signed :)

Lots of people don't have a favorite, I think.
But like said before, it changes with mood, where you are in your life etc.

I get periods when I'm into a song so much, when I discover it again, or for the first time, and it's amazing.
But In Hiding has probably been on top for a while now :)

it truly is a great song. I get to cry and smile when I listen to it, but all
    in a positive way.

I can't do it; like others said I go through phases and it also depends on my mood. Right now I am in love with "Sad." It is always one of my top songs, but at this moment, I would pick it as one my favs.
