Yes, it is a country song. I gaurantee that country acts will cover that song several times in the years to come. I actually think the song would be better performed by a female.
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win ."

someone replied to the blog with this:

“The day Kurt Cobain died, we just held each other and cried, but you made me feel a whole lot better when you said……..thank god it wasn’t Eddie Vedder”

Does anyone know where it's from?

Don't know where that's from but I concur with it 100%. Sorry Kurt. Your bad.

Ya- that quote is almost tatoo-able. I really liked it, a lot.

What makes it a country song? I can see why country fans would dig it but it's not really like much country music I've heard. I'd say folksy and the strings are distinctly uncountry

Well, Jeff's bouncy bass line definitely smacks of country...

Sounds like Paul McCartney to me.
  • I've turned some of my friends who like like country on to PJ with stuff like Thumbing My Way, Drifting, Footsteps, JB, Nothingman, etc. I wouldn't really call it country though, it's too varied and more distinct. Either way, it's awesome.
Do you see the way that tree bends? Does it inspire?

I'll not lose my faith, it's an inside job today

St. Louis 5/4/10 Hope for many more!
  • My wife is primarily a country fan (nobody's perfect :? ) and this is definitely her favorite PJ song.
