Ok, I started doing this to begin a network so I can market myself as a writer. I am what you might call a technological T-Rex. How does one invite folks to join in that don't already show up in your network? Do you have to know their actual names? Would it help if people knew mine? Anyone?

Soon, I will have books for sale.

Using Twitter is easy, you'll be fine. :) I agree with jokertt14 to use Twitter to get people to your Facebook page.

Do you have a personal Facebook or one for your writings only? I mean, would people become your friends or fans? The easiest way to find and invite people on Facebook would be knowing their name. But I'm not really one to advice.. I basically know how to use it, but that's it.

I first set up a personal facebook, but I noticed you can set one up for a business as well. I will be doing that as soon as I have a product to sell. Through facebook, I have a link to my blog spot. I'm trying to tie it altogether, you know, figure out the best way to market myself with all these new tools. I tried sending smoke signals from my hidden cave, but I'm not to sure how many people noticed...

Yes. If I were you, I'd wait until the days got a little longer before going with the smoke signals.

I see. Best of luck with that. :) I'm sure you'll figure it all out soon enough. If you have a Facebook page for your writings, you can have a link from there to your blog and a link on your Blog for your Facebook. When you have new updates and such, you can Tweet those with links. All these things, Twitter and Facebook, will be what you make of them. :)

Also, what's your Twitter account name? I can follow you. :D

I was trying to figure out my facebook page link for others. It seems the only time I can access my link is when I'm logged in, but I don't want to give people that one, right? I mean, I can't do a search on a profile unless I'm logged in to my own. I'm confused

Norm, what is my facebook link? What does it look like to you?

Well, the thing about facebook is that we all have to be logged in to see any of the pages. So, put the link up and people will get that screen that says (You must be logged in to see this page) and then they'll log in... :)

I was telling my wife that just last night. I feel dirty/compromised somehow trying this techo crap that I have no interest in, but I have no idea how to market myself these days without doing that stuff. Yeah, get your book thread back up and running.
