Poster Collectors - How do you flatten your prints?

With a bunch of new posters on the way from the 10C sales, I was hoping to learn from the poster experts on the board.
How do you flatten your posters? I have a portfolio that I want to store them in but I am not sure the best (and most safe) way to flatten out the prints first.

Any suggestions?

  • I'd like to know this too...i've received posters from people and they are all rolled up, i want to trade them someday and i know that saying they've been stored flat is preferable among the collectors

    The cheapest and easiest way:

Just open it up, lay them flat, put a sheet of acid-free craft paper in between each and then close up the ends- simple, safe, and cheap

I use an artwork portfolio. It's a little pricey, bu it does a great job protecting and storing.

Just lay them flat on a table, place craft paper on top of the poster and use books (or something similar that is heavy) to apply pressure on them. After a few days they are usually good and flat and can be transferred to either a poster box or a portfolio.
