Last time I watched the t.v was during the Olympics in 2008.

    Realllllly? :problem:

Actually, I turned it on for about 5 minutes during the 60th anniversary of the Communist party taking power last year on October 1st because someone txtd me to tell me I should watch it. It was utter shite, so I turned it off after a few minutes. It's been unplugged ever since, and now my service has been disconnected.

I still watch the occasional t.v show on my p.c though - The Sopranos, Northern Exposure, and the odd documentary.

I've had cable pretty much my whole life. I really couldnt imagine not having it. That's mainly due to a majority of local sports being on cable. Other than that, I could prob live without it.

    However...

I believe that the more a person watches television, the more they damage their hearing.

Seriously, why fuck does it have to be so motherfucking loud all of the god damn time?!?!
    Jesus-fuckin-a-christ.

I sincerely missed television when I was completely without one - like ready to dry hump one if left alone in a room with it missed it. But now that I'm back in a household with someone who watches it on a regular basis, I'm back to fantasizing about taking an ax to the motherfucker. Grrrrr!!!!

So, anyone else think people are listening to their televisions at ear drum damaging levels?

In Australia the ads are SO LOUD! My bf is constantly turning the tv down during ads then turning it back up for the tv show. Are ads louder in the States?

I hate watching reality tv crap as well... over here we have Celebrity Big Brother at the moment and Stephen Baldwin is on it.. and he's a complete bible-bashing moron of the highest order... my life is too short to wonder about what psalm Stephen Baldwin is wanking over any given morning.

Totally. There's supposed to be some sort of smart sound thing that keeps that from happening. It doesn't work.

And, the music is louder just like at the theater. I keep the remote handy when I'm using the telly. Up-down-up-down. Sometimes, I just get lazy and choose not to hear the dialogue. If they had something important to say, they'd speak up, right?
