Apparently he has quit the Cardinals and is focusing on writing books?? I guess making a new album every six months or so can burn you out. I hope he re-groups soon.

    +1

  • He can do anything he wants as far as I'm concerned. He announced this a while ago! Where have you all been?

Brad Pemberton, the drummer for the Cardinals is out touring with Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs). Neil Casal (guitar) is releasing a new book of photos in March. I believe it is based purely on RA and The Cardinals. He lost the bass player of the Cardinals, Chris Feinstein (Spacewolf), a few months back. He got married beginning of last year I believe. I am sure he is just taking it day by day and he will be back in no time ! :D

Jesus, so would you if you'd just lost a friend & band member. Give the guy a break! Sheesh

Ok maybe its legit this time, but if he hadn’t made comments like this on multiple occasions people would give him a little bit of a break.

Not to mention he's been having serious hearing issues that have affected him in more ways than just hearing.. I believe he himself said he was having issues with his balance as a result, and getting dizzy and having headaches frequently.

    Oh yeah, that too!
  • not really sure why you all are giving him crap. he has put out more material since 2000 than most musicians do in their entire careers. while we all wish he would release the follow up to Cardinology, the guy is still pretty much a newlywed.
  • he also has a medical issue with his hearing and is going deaf... he announced a while back that he wasn't going to be making music. if you read the intro to neal's book that is coming out soon, it really does sound like ryan is not going to be making music for the forseeable future. granted, he does make dramatic statements like these from time to time, but this case seems to be a bit different. i certainly hope not, because i love his music, even if the last record was sub-par for him. i hope he takes some time to heal in whatever ways he needs and then comes back with a killer solo record.

So he's been having hearing loss issues and he's making a metal album? :?

Cobra-Eyez sounds like a Slayer song. I'm all for branching out, be it kind of seems counter productive to his hearing issues.

    Update from facebook:

"ORION update; we are about two weeks away now. Here is the full inside cover shot. The bio-robotic-spider art was done by my pal Michel Langevin ( a.k.a "AWAY" of Voivod).... we are pressing it on Clear vinyl and the cover is reflective silvery weirdness. ( also - I am not saying it's "metal" anymore- just really really fast country with screaming and crap)"
