My New Friend

you have been my strength
when I felt too weak to care
you have been my source of hope
when I had no hope to spare
you have been an ear
when I thought I had nothing left to say
you have shown me more kindness
than I thought that I deserved
you have inspired me to not lose sight of the future
no matter how much my future has changed

you did not even know me
yet you gave me comfort, and helped me see...
that it was still okay, to be me

I hope to be able to repay you someday

I hope to do all the same when needed,
for my new friend.

Today is a special day!! I have the greatest memory on earth.
